Preferred solution: I want the late fees removed one worker removed them yesterday because it was not my fault I return the car and called you guys to let you know what happen. I was still able to drive the car they never locked it up until I said it was in my possession.

This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. I was paying for my girlfriends membership and she has found syringes in a car that she picked up from GA Tech's campus in a kia soul that was also damaged all down the side from a driver side swiping something, she picked up a car from Howell mill that was a chevy electric car- that one wouldn't turn off literally would not turn off and no way to charge the car, she picked up a car from State street once that had empty liquor bottles under the drivers seat.
Every car that she ever rented would have service needed lights on, they were all filthy. Then they locked her out of the last vehicle after she paid for another day, like 3 hours after taking the 99.95 out of the account and refused to let her back in. They said that her account was under review. They wouldn't let her get her things out and then left the vehicle abandoned in the apartment complex for 72 hours.
They were already tagged for towing, too bad they made it before the tow truck got here on the last day. If you like HORRIBLE customer service, risking being arrested for drugs or alcohol found in the cars from previous drivers, or being broke down because they don't maintain the cars then this company is for you! Honestly, just get a rental from a real rental company with the subscriptions they offer.
You will save if you use the car for more than a few days a month and wont risk the felony drug charges that you may get using Zipcar! This company is a ripoff!

Verified Reviewer |Resolved: I was charged twice for an annual fee and told there is a problem with my account. I was also charged for a transaction on my account that I did not make. The name on the charge was "Santa Clause"
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I kept writing to them until I felt that the case was resolved.
I also put in a complaint to my bank so that they were involved as well.I included dates and amounts as well as any transaction numbers or identifiers.
I'm not sure if I received the full amount or credits on the account since the website is bad and the records on the Zipcar account were not very good. Keep your own records if possible.

Zipcar finished my trip remotely without my knowledge because of a misunderstanding with the customer service agent about adding extra credits Zipcar offered earlier in the day to extend my existing trip and locked me out of the vehicle. My car was trashed with spills, stains, and pet hair all over with a Maintenance Required sign flashing on the dashboard as I drove which said that the tire balance needed to be adjusted - first of all, how is that even allowed?
The agent on the phone who heard my concerns offered extra credit and I didn't accept on the spot but said I would contact back if I needed it later in the day. I spoke with a second agent near the end of my trip and got her confirmation that I could return late and they would remove the charges later since for some reason, they couldn't extend my trip. However, what she didn't tell me was that she put a protocol or something to end my trip automatically the second I locked the car after the call, I returned from a store that I stopped by a few minutes to find out I couldn't enter the car anymore. After nearly 30 minutes of holding, I got through to someone who transferred to someone who also transferred me to another person just to tell me a retrieval process had begun and I needed to find a different transportation to get home.
At this point, I had been standing by the car in 50-degree weather outside for nearly 1.5 hours. I insisted on taking the vehicle as they informed me that they would not be refunding me for the trouble and additional cost of taking a different transportation to go home. They didn't budge and I came home. Two days later, they charged for a 3-hour late fee and a tow fee because they said there was "nothing" wrong with the vehicle.
I will be contacting to take photos of the Maintenance Required sign along with copies of the phone recordings from this day and will fight my final bill with the small claims court which is an absurdly whopping $300+.
Absolutely garbage, do not do business with them. Customer service agents are worthless and have no idea what they are doing.

I reserved a car with zipcar to get to work. Walk 20 mins to get there and the car isnt in the spaces.
I spend 20 mins looking around the garage, and the car is nowhere to be seen. I call customer service and. Its a long hold time so I leave my number. The 800 number calls me back and theres nothing on the line just background silence from their end.
I called again and tell them, I couldve very well lost my job. They refused to let me cancel online without charging me for the reservation, even though the car wasnt there. They gave me a few mins of free driving time as if that equates to the situation they put me in.
You then have to wait 3-5 business days to get your money back. Its not worth it spend your money with another company, a better one.

I've been a Zipcar customer since 2006. I had no big problems for a long time.
It seems, however, that since Avis bought them out they have gone downhill. In any case, frustration and unhappiness is increasingly the norm now. Recently, I've had to go out of town to rent a Zipcar because the card scanner on the car nearby me doesn't work. They never fix it because most of their customers use smart phones to open the car.
I don't.
So I go to the car out of town but it's not there. I call customer service and get the usual message about "unusually heavy call volume," meaning I have to wait forever to speak with someone. They almost always have that message. I elected to have them call me back.
They didn't. I called them again. After about an hour of waiting outside in the drizzle someone finally called me. I spoke to her for thirty seconds and the call dropped before she even verified me.
After walking home in bad weather for thirty minutes, I called them again to cancel the reservation I was unable to use.
I again had to call them repeatedly. At least twice they returned my call but nobody was there--just dead air. I waited and waited. "Hello, hello, hello!" Nothing.
Finally, after five hours (literally) of screwing around with them, a person called me back. I could barely hear him because the line was breaking up. He readily agreed to cancel the reservation and reimburse me. Thanks.
It only took my whole afternoon to get that done.
On another occasion, I went to my reserved car and it wasn't there. I got through to a rep and he set me up with another car in another town. OK--thanks. I walked thirty minutes to the other car and it wasn't there either.
I called customer service and was told I didn't have a car reserved. Well, why was I told I had one? What did the rep do when he spoke to me about it? Apparently nothing.
I was quite BS at this point and demanded to speak to a supervisor. The rep said he had to write a report first. He spent forever plodding around on the keyboard and not transferring me.
As if they hadn't wasted enough of my time. At that point, a bus came and I went home with no resolution and completely disgusted with Zipcar.

The representative promised me 45 mins of driving credit for the inconvenience as if that equates to the situation they put me in.
I call back to confirm this and theres not even a note stating the rep said this to me,and they cant review the call to check what the representative said. I regret putting my information into this app.

Wow! They locked my girlfriend and I out of the car she rented too.
I had already paid her for 2 days and had just extended her reservation for another day. Still had 6 hours before the trip ended when I extended again.
they waited until after I paid them another $99 and then locked the car and refused access to get out personal belongings out of the car, refused to allow us to return the car which would be a 10 minute drive and advised that retrieval had begun.They left the car sitting in front of my apartment for 3 days! They would never tell us what the reason was for placing the account under investigation and then canceled her membership when we kept complaining and calling, This is the WORST company I have ever dealt with for anything
Well I really don't even know where to begin on the day of The New Year Day was the worst for me I got locked out the car twice once over $3.96 & then secondly over $20.91 because they couldn't charge the card on my account because on their end blocked my card this is the first time using this company and I didn't know I had to call customer service to extend for a full day so at 1 something in the morning after I had just finished up with my kids and grands that I had to return the vehicle to the home location at night in a area I'm not to familiar with by myself to pay more money to find a different way home Ms Tasha was very nice for the 7-11 courtesy ride to have to deal with 2 so called supervisor and agent to make it seem like I was trying to steal driving time because their company blocked my card that morning because I had to keep extending every 2 hours because it's no where stating on the app to get a full day ride that I had to call customer service I have never felt so humiliated as I did tonight behind these so called agents treating me like a villain because their company blocked my bank card I wish I never gave this company a dime of my hard working money but you live and you learn take your money elsewhere!!
